Our department conducts targeted field surveys across traditional and surrounding lands to identify and monitor potential habitats for the Yellow-banded Bumble Bee. By collecting data on nesting sites, foraging patterns, and environmental conditions, we gain critical insight into the challenges this species faces—such as habitat loss, climate change, and pesticide exposure. This work is part of our broader mission to preserve pollinator populations, raise community awareness, and support land stewardship rooted in Indigenous knowledge. Through education initiatives, hands-on science, and collaboration with environmental partners, we aim to protect this important species for future generations.
